Ashley has several years of experience assisting with the development of grant proposals. She first began to learn the art of grant writing in 2009, when she was hired to develop the Kent State College of Education's Office of Research and Faculty Diversity's website. The following year she entered the doctoral program at KSU and began to collaborate with faculty and colleagues to fine-tune the proposals being submitted for the EI/ECSE program. Ashley has also been involved in grant administration; serving as a co-consultant on two separate grants, she has worked with the Principal Investigator and other key staff to engage in administrative tasks such as project reporting and budgeting, and is now working on data analysis.

Harjusola-Webb, S. (PI) & Gatmaitan, M. (2012-2013). Early intervention in natural environments: Professional development through a community of practice. Submitted to Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, Administration of Supports for Evidence-Based Early Intervention Services grant, $114,007.00.
Ashley served as the co-master consultant with Michelle Gatmaitan, providing support to previously trained regional and parent coaches in a "coaching the coach" model. As part of her role, she analyzed data related to early intervention teams' perceptions and provided individualized visual analyses and verbal consulting to leaders in several Ohio counties. Ashley also provided virtual in-service to teams in conjunction with regional and master coaches, as well as performance feedback to coaches regarding their interactions with providers. The Community of Practice (CoP) included a series of learning modules in Blackboard Learn that were co-created by Michelle and Ashley, and these materials were also placed in a Wiggio site for EI teams working on the Project. The pair also co-wrote the CoP manual. The Community of Practice Website is currently online, and discussions continue regarding how to best utilize the space.
